Two of Avery's most favorite things right now are gardening & compost - I'm sure it has everything to do with our "green" lifestyle & nothing to do with her addiction to curious george & his special "green" episodes.

We began preparing for our garden a few weeks weeks back, we are bound to grow gigantic "abby cadabby" pumpkins. Avery was so excited to call me at work when her pumpkin seeds began to grow. She takes control when it comes to watering them, sometimes drowning them. Flowers were added to the mix last week, we're still waiting on the sunflowers to peek out of the cups. On mother's day we visited the green house & picked up strawberry & tomato plants she'll love picking those. All we have to wait for it the weather to stay warm so the plants can stop taking over Nanna's kitchen & instead take up the back yard.

Avery's love of compost has moved us. Well we don't actually compost its more of what we call the food we are getting rid of, this food watermelon rinds, potatoes, carrots etc. goes to the field at the property for the deer. We check on the status of the compost & Avery scolds the deer when they eat it all gone. She'll state with her hands in dismay "the deer ate all my compost."
